While this podcast does feature singing, it does not feature any dancing stormtroopers, Darth Vaders, or even Slave Leias
It’s that time of the week again, everyone! It’s time for the TORWars podcast! This week’s podcast is super duper uber special, because 1) we actually did this podcast when we were sober (a first!), and 2) we cover the following awesometastic topics:
News:
- Why you might (or might not) want to play the latest Lego Star Wars III game
- Zabrak’s are cool, even though their horns are wonky
- Why hubris will kill your game company (and make you look like an idiot)
Discussion:
- A day in the life of a Live Team Producer
- How to send your companions on menial, degrading errands
- BioWare, and their obvious bias for the Republic and against the Sith (or not)
- Jedi Guardian, the “kick arse” spec
- Yes, you can marry your in-game buddy Darth Roberto if you really, really want to
In Depth:
- How will you control your companions?
- Automatic (a la Torchlight)
- Tactical prerogatives (a la Dragon Age)
- The “possession” model
Way Off Topic Topic:
- Dragon Age 2 impressions
- Is the game another winner for BioWare?
- Will Dragon Age 2′s design impact TOR?
Beyond the above features, this week’s show is full of the same bickering, arguing, and oh-so-hilarious banter (ahem) that you’ve come to expect each and every week, so you won’t be disappointed. On top of all this, David sings (not entirely badly) throughout the entire show. I think it goes without saying that this is our best podcast yet!

SWTOR Community Cantina Audio: Q&A Live With Musco, Hickman, And Schubert
I believe it’s pronounced Blaine Kris-tyne. Don’t quote me on this, but I think I heard somewhere a while ago that he is actually kind of sensitive about his name.
Well, I’m getting more excited about DA2 the more I hear about it. Quick question though, is there a jump button in the game? It seems kind of silly to go through all the trouble of making it more action rpg and leave out a jump button. Besides, Zelda is already at that level, get there Bioware.
That qualm aside, Things are sounding good about the game. I’m glad the deep scripting system is returning to the game. Once I figured out the scripts in the first game, I hardly ever paused combat anyway things flowed so well.
Moving on. There is a dev quote out there somewhere that addresses that there will not be deep scripting for the companions in TOR like in DA. It was either George or Damion who said it was just too much work in an mmo setting. That being said, it is still very possible that these different AI kits we will be able to get with our companions may act as a bunch of different pre set scripts that we can choose from until we find the one that suits us best.
Another good show guys. I love listening.
So – Chopin’s Funeral March for Mendelssohn’s Wedding March, hmmmm? Your Freudian slip is showing.
I would’ve at least thought you would have mixed it up with the Imperial March on this podcast. LOL!
