Frugal like a Jawa

I think we’ve all experienced an empty wallet in an MMO. Excitedly you will be running to the vendor to buy your first mount, as you’ve finally reached the required level. On your way to the vendor, you stop to pick up your new class skills from leveling up. Clicking though each new ability and savoring the delicious new attack animations you

Im personally hoping for an economic model that is in effect a form of pvp – everyone competing, speculating, gambling investments…

It would be dissapointing if all there is to it is farm money – buy new stuff – farm more money – buy newer stuff on repeat untill everyones a billionaire and no one is willing to sell anything.

Fortunatly, I expect that given the work bioware have done they wont skimp on the market

Hopefully the flow of credits will be enough to cover training etc. although it sounds like you won’t want to concern yourself with crew skills too much while leveling.

One thing I did like about WAR was that money was plentiful and therefore credit farmers were an irrelevance.

I seem to recall reading somewhere that quest items have their own inventory and so you don’t have to throw away stuff to complete a quest which makes bag space slightly less problematic.

I never had too much money with money in mmo’s don’t figure i will here, though as long as they do not make you purchase each new rank of a power you have you will be fine, Had a bit o trouble late in WoW when I played briefly for that reason.

As always it’s all about how you spend your money and what on. From a logical stand point – it’s better to not spend whilst your character is at a low level (rely on drops), and only purchase when you reach max – or a place where max is available. Otherwise you constantly find yourself ill-equipped and without money. It’s a shame pazaak and so on won’t be available on release, i’d of loved to waltz into a nar shaddaa casino and try my luck :p

And also, the bonus quests – as we saw in the Taral V video, the entire flashpoint had 45 bonus objectives – which i guess is alot of income if you do them all.

I’m also keen to see if conversation choices can affect your income aswel, such as in KOTOR you can do a nice thing and accept no reward, or demand a reward – i found myself demanding a few times :p

Those Vader bills should be used on conventions as drinking tickets or something. Call me Bioware, fire that fish called David.

As long as gold sellers don’t take over the system Ill be happy. In WoW, ROM and im sure many others games, this was a big problem. Its also an unfair advantage when players spend real money for in game money. They tend to destroy the economy. ” Well I sell my x, for Y because Z has to gold to buy it” Well if Z is buying lots of gold to pay whatever for that item, it sets the standard almost making it so everyone that wants those items to have to buy gold. Frustrating!!

On another note- I think they should have POD racing teams! Have it set up so that players can create teams and compete for prizes, as well as allow other players that don’t race to bet on race outcomes :P

Then allow bounty hunters to get quest to seek out and collect debt lol.
    OTB FTW lol
