There’s a trio of interesting Star Wars-related stories in the news today. Seeing as how all is quiet in The Old Republic universe before the PAX explosion tomorrow – I thought I’d lay these fun bits on you.

Fisher’s Fitness
First up, Princess Leia herself, Carrie Fisher, has unveiled her new Jenny Craig-assisted weight-loss body and she’s looking to be in fine form once again. Kinect StarWars - Force Pushed into 2012

Kinect Star Wars Delayed
LucasArts and Microsoft are delaying Kinect Star Wars into 2012. The Star Wars-themed Xbox 360 bundle has also been pushed into next year. Game Informer are reporting this as good news. After playing the game, they feel the devs need more time to polish and perfect.

Shiny metal book...of the future!

‘Heir to the Empire’ 20th Anniversary Edition
Lastly, a 20th anniversary edition of Timothy Zahn’s Star Wars: Heir to the Empire novel is being released on September 6th. If you hop over to Game Informer you can read the book‘s second chapter and even have a chance at winning a free copy. Many consider Star Wars: Heir to the Empire to be one of the best Star Wars novels. Why not see if you agree?

Funny on that book giveaway. I just finished The Last Command(last book in the trilogy) today. Awesome books. I thought the Thrawn character was overrated though.

  2. Ruusaan says:

That book is as old as I am. o.O

… I’m… uh, not entirely sure what to make of that.

  3. Pathos says:

Yup I am officially starting to feel middle aged. Because at 36 I really hope I don’t make it to 70, especially if I need any help in doing anything bathing or daily related.

As Lister in Red Dwarf says, “Better Dead than Smeg”.

Yup I watch too much Sci-Fi. LOL

    Pathos.

KINECT Delay to 2012 is a GOOD sign for SWTOR. I couldnt imagine Lucas Arts being comfortable with releasing two Star Wars games within the same month to compete with each other, and EA wont release SWTOR to compete Battlefield 3 buyers. That made a SWTOR NOVEMBER release appear a bit unlikely, especially on the week of Thanksgiving which is what I believe to be their Target Date. That target is Weeks after Battlefield 3 fever has raged and ebbed, but close enough to deliver two competition crushing hits in a row before Black Friday. It offers time for EA’s consumer audience to financially rebound and pay for both hits, and it gives Bioware the chance to counter Blizzcon reveals with a long awaited Release Date. A Star Wars Kinect Delay makes a late November, Early December launch much more likely.

Dude, Pathos, don’t feel so bad :)

I myself am 32, and when I read this article the first thing I thought was: “why would I want a 20th anniversary edition of the first 3 Zahn SW novels? My first edition copies I bought when I was a kid are still in great condition…”

I’ve been collecting SW novels set after Return of the Jedi since those books came out, got em all, reading through them as a ramp up to TOR’s release. I’ve been saving this re-read for a year or so, until we got some release info.
