The time has come again fellow TORWriters. Anthony Sproson (AKA Kellmorn) has planned out and set the dates for his latest Star Wars: The Old Republic Fan Fiction Competition. If the name sounds familiar, in addition to organizing fan fiction competitions, Anthony has written a few guest editorials, right here on everyone’s favorite fan site.

The Consular was the big winner in the cantina last time around. Back to back? Or will another class take the grand prize?
To refresh your memories, Kellmorn’s first competition was focused on the community creating short stories for the Jedi Consular class. The competition went really well, and naturally the community was eager for more.
Fan Fiction 2.0 expanded the competition across all eight character classes. There were two stages of voting the second time around. The first round took place on the official forums and determined the winner for each of the eight classes. The second round took place on a poll right here on TORWars.com.
How could Kellmorn possibly expand on a contest that has already raised the creativity level in the community twice? The third installment of the competition will follow a very similar formula to the last contest, but will add two other ways to enter the contest as well as raise the word count again, for those of us who tend to get a little carried away. Before I get too carried away, let’s hear the rules of Fan Fiction Competition 3.0 from the man himself:
Greetings one and all! I promised the competition would return in early October, and it will be! To be exact, the date for submissions and the threads going live will be October 8th. So you have a few weeks in hand to get writing to submit your story during the two week submitting period!
Dates for Competition
8th October: Threads go live for submitting and reading
8th October – 22nd October: Submitting time period, submission deadline occurs on midnight of the 22nd.
23rd October – 30th October: Voting Phase
October 31st: Winners announcedThis is not a thread for submitting stories, is just an announcement to give you time to write and polish your stories
Rules of the competition
The competition will feature in all 8 character class sections once again. Your story should be set around the timeline of The Old Republic game(around 10 years after the treaty of Coruscant), but your story can follow any stage of the character classes life, such as: a padawan, or a jedi master. Your story can be serious or funny, or a mix of the two! It really is up to you!
The length of submissions has been risen to: 500-3500 words. However, the penalty for going over 3500 will be much greater. For every hundred words you go over 3500, you will lose a vote when it comes to the voting phase.
Two New Competitions! (Making the total 10!)
The first new competition, which will be put it in the fan fiction section, is the Novel entry. The word count for this particular competition will be 3500-10,000, which is around 3 chapters for a normal novel (unless you’re Tolkein). This is for those that get really carried away and want to write more, and also because some people want to read more – so this is your chance to shine if writing lengthy pieces is your thing!
This competition will still have the setting of SWTOR, and must be based around one of the 8 character classes.
The second new competition will be a descriptive competition. This will be the smallest of the competitions word count wise, offering 250-750 words. This particular competition is for you to take a planet from the Star Wars universe that has very little information on it and transform it into a land of interest. You can find a humongous list here:
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_planets
This competition involves you selecting a planet that has very, very little information on it. Your job is to then take that nugget of information and really develop it, giving the planet unique features and inhabitants. The rules for this competition are that within 750 words you are to describe a planet (inhabited by sentients or not, you can describe the environment) that has little information on it, and really transform that unknown planet into something special in the Universe.
It’s a unique challenge, and really pushes you be creative with a nearly entirely blank slate!
How voting will work
Voting will be held on these forums again from the 23rd of October until the 30th
The winner of these competitions will receive a reward yet to be announced!
More announcements are yet to follow, so keep an eye on the threads and be ready to for when the submission threads go live!
Good luck and have fun!
A couple of the other announcements he didn’t add to the post yet, is that in addition to interviewing and featuring the winners, the grand vote off will once again be held here on TORWars.com!
There’s a little something for everyone here, TORWarriors, so if you missed the contest the first, or second time, or you wanted to participate and didn’t, your time is fast approaching. The first window for submissions will open on October 8th, and there’s no time like the present to start crafting the tale for your future SWTOR characters. Have fun, and good luck to all.

I would love to participate in this competition but, alas, I can’t even log on to my account in swtor. I’m eone of the people who encounters a never-ending glitch when trying to log in that always berings me back to the login screen and prompts me for my password over and over.
Oh well…
Tune in to Bootleg Radio on Sunday from 5-6pm EST for an interview with Kelmorn on The Mind Meld.
