BioWare has posted details for the Star Wars: The Old Republic presence at New York Comic-Con next week. While the show seems to be a bit low-key compared to previous conventions (with a somewhat reduced developer presence -they devs are flying back to Austin after their panels to get back to work! – and no launch announcement to be made) fun and excitement will surely be had by locals and eager travelers. The ‘Con takes place at Jacob K. Javits Center October 13 – 16 and here’s what you’ll want to watch out for:
Wednesday, October 12th – SWTOR Meet & Greet at District 36. The party runs from 8:00PM EDT until 11:00PM. Origin Worlds will be available for play and BioWare’s community team, Stephen Reid and David Bass should be in attendance. An “Open Bar” is promised, so those arriving parched should be well taken care of.
Friday, October 14th – Two Panels: a “Main Panel” at 2:30PM in room 1A10 of the MTV Theater and another panel hosted by MMORPG.com at 6:30PM in the American Airlines Theater.
Sunday, October 16th – At 2:45PM in Room 1A24 BioWare’s Drew Karpyshyn will be appearing at the Del Rey Star Wars Books Panel.
“Those who come by the booth will have the opportunity to experience both the Alderaan and Huttball Warzones. New York Comic-Con attendees will also have the chance to play through some of our Origin Worlds content on the showfloor.”

You can really feel the pace picking up. Friday updates are coming in crazy early, and through the week the site is being updated more frequently. Still feels like forever until release though!
I’m still waiting for BioWare to release the full talent trees so I can start spending hours theorycrafting!
Also, I wish I could make it up to NYCC
They did mention that they’re considering doing that before the release but it’s still being decided. Truth be told though i guess we can expect atleast the very core powers, but i do hope there are some ‘hidden’ powers/talents that can only be gained by lots of questing or completing something extra special.
If anything, they may have certain class abilities that require questing, akin to the mount questlines, or the special Warlock summons. That would be cool, just not sure what they’ll implement as of yet.
Also, I am hoping for the talent info to be released before launch…really really hoping.
