The latest G4tv MMO Report has dropped and this week Mr. Casey Schreiner has more banter directed at the beloved, upcoming Star Wars: The Old Republic.
As per usual, multiple MMOs are up for discussion; but BioWare’s SWTOR comes in starting at about 2:50 into the video. In it, Schreiner discusses how BioWare has stated that Companions will be available in Operations in SWTOR.

Swarms of self-described “hardcore raiders” flooding the official forums to complain that this somehow makes Operations too easy in three, two, one…
Well that correction came fast. Probably won’t stop the complainers though.
This is good news.

Quote from developer blog: “Any player leaving the group can be substituted by a companion of the group’s choice, with the party leader in control of which player gets to use their companion.
If a player leaves the group or its proximity, to travel to a vendor for instance, he is able to summon his companion for the journey. Upon reentering proximity of the group, the companion is automatically dismissed. The remaining group can temporarily substitute the missing player with one of their companions if desired.”
This blog specifically is speaking about flashpoints. Now listen to the MMO report talk about how companions can be used in raids. The way both are explained sound very very similar, with the exception that he’s claiming it has been announced for raids. I think the MMO report screwed up their research/report.
Apparently Casey was mistaken.

@MarkSchwick No, you cannot take companions into an operation. Casey was mistaken.

As stated above, I think G4 was mistaken. It has been clearly stated that comps can be used in FPs, but not Ops.
I don’t see G4 getting the scoop on this type of info anyway… but you never know.
I don’t see the problem either way, to be honest. I seriously doubt any group will take a bunch of companions over real players, almost no matter how inept the player.
Don’t trust a thing G4TV says anymore, on the feedback show the other week they stated that the Swtor release date was announced “early Sunday morning from EuroGamer Expo in Germany”
Seriously was the 5 mins research it would have taken to get it correct too much ?
g4 in summary= some one pays them, they say the bile they as paid to say, end of story
I have only watched that show once and the hosts disgusting smugness is a huge offputter, not only that but constantly getting information wrong doesn;t endear the show.
I think americans call it fox news syndrome?
