SWTOR Beta Invites Continue… Now For Europe!

All Star Wars: The Old Republic fans alike could be heard rejoicing this week as BioWare sent out invites for their third, upcoming Beta Weekend. The original invites were indicated to be limited to North American players, with the servers in question being based out of the East Coast of the States.

Well, now EU players can also rejoice! Stephen Reid dropped by the official forums today to let EU players know that ‘General Game Testing’ invites have now started being sent out for EU players!

EU SWTOR Fans, Rejoice!

“General Game Testing Invites are now being sent to EU testers.

Sent Nov. 10: General Game Testing Invites

  • Who was invited: Testers from all European launch countries (see list here)
  • What was sent: General Game Testing Invites
  • Server locations: EU servers
  • Invite status: Invites will continue to be sent during today. E-mails can take some time to be sent, so please check your www.swtor.com/tester page to be sure!”
As the date for SWTOR’s release comes closer & closer, the ramp up for players to test the game continues. Good luck on receiving an invite, EU players!
Also, for North American players who did get an invite but are having some trouble, Mr. Reid offered some advice on the official forums today as well. His words:
“If you have received an invite to this weekend’s Beta Testing Weekend, but upon clicking the ‘Accept’ button in the email find that you’re being directed to a ‘missing page’ on the official site – don’t despair. You’re still invited.

To solve this issue and accept your invite, simply login to www.swtor.com/tester and accept the invitation there.

Apologies for any confusion this error may have caused.”

Congratulations to all those who have received invites so far, and for those of us not lucky enough to be downloading the latest SWTOR client for testing right now – be sure to check up on plenty of new coverage from the 2nd BioWare SWTOR Fan Summit.. Happy Thursday, TORWarriors!

    OMG first time I’ve been eligable (Norway), I’ll force crush someone (with my butt) if I don’t get an invite… F5 F5 F5 F5 F5 F5 F5 F5…..

  3. Nora says:

LMAO!! I live in upstate NY ( east coast) & didn’t get an invite when they were looking to test East coast servers! As soon as they announced Euro participation I revived my invite!!! I think I may have screwed up my time zone entry in my account settings :D

  4. Tallon says:

    Aye Carumba! F5 standing by…

I don’t understand. In the official forums the beta-invites thread said this:

“Sent Nov. 10: General Game Testing Invites

Who was invited: Testers from all European launch countries (see
    list here)

What was sent: General Game Testing Invites

    Server locations: EU servers

Invite status: Invites will continue to be sent during today. E-mails can take some time to be sent, so please check your http://www.swtor.com/tester page to be sure!”

“So please check your http://www.swtor.com/tester page to be sure!”

Does that mean that if we don’t recieve an email right away we can just check our /tester page, and then if it doesn’t say that “you are now in testing” or something like that, then i will not be invited in this round of emails?

Or does it mean something else? I’m not quite getting it. If it that’s what it means, there will be no reason for me just sitting in anticipation staring at my inbox all night, lol.

  6. Jlewis419 says:

If you get invited to this beta testing weekend, can you only play this weekend? Or do you play all weekends from then on? Or do you play whenever after that weekend?

  7. To Jlewis – it depends on the invite you get. I believe (could be wrong) the terms:

Beta Testing Weekend = You play for the weekend (maybe a bit longer)
Game Testing Invite = You play until you’re cut off, which could be months. I’ve got a friend that’s been playing for a month and a half currently!

So for the first you can ONLY play on that weekend, i guess if you can’t play then it’s just tough luck :(

To ‘ThatGuy’ – So long as the emails are out-going you may well be eligible for this round of testing. The reason they say check the tester page is just in case your invite gets mistakenly put in your junk folder/deleted etc :) Currently, you still have a reason to spam-check your inbox :P

  8. ThatGuy says:

Thx for clearing that out man :D
Now if you’ll excuse me i need to get back to staring anxiously at my gmail inbox.

    cheers

  9. Rune says:

No invite… but I did just get a survey about the preorder program… sigh… BioWare trolling me again…

  10. Rune says:

I got another mail from Bioware.

“You have received an infraction at STAR WARS: The Old Republic. Reason: Inappropriate Content”

My horrible, distasteful, and hateful remark?

“I appreciate Bioware’s position though… I just don’t understand why someone would bring religion into a videogame.” (referring to a post in the forum about a guy looking for a christian guild).

Seriously Bioware. I know you’re based in Texas. But I’ve just about had it with the moderators. Every time the subject of religion comes up, anyone who says anything remotely negative, like why bring religion into a videogame, ends up getting infraction points and bans from the forums.

It’s preposterous. I’ve never seen a game forum with such a blatantly biased moderator.

    • Murdok says:

Rune, its not biased man, its negativity in any form wether its pro religion and anti athiesm or however you want to phrase it. Even just a nudge, someone will blow it outta proportion and troll and you know it. It just starts a bad thread of negative things that can carry on and on, so they have to cut the head off right away, thats just the way it is, same with most mmo forums.

      • Rune says:

Perhaps so. Does that mean the trick is merely to keep out of those threads? And if so, why don’t they just say so? :s

I really am curious as to what sort of response moderators would give if I asked for an atheist guild, a satanist guild, or… IDK a baby-sacrificing mayan religious bloodguild? ;)

In any case, there is a murmur of discontent among the natives on the SWTOR forums.

  11. Infinight says:

I got one!!! Downloading now :D

  12. Henry says:

HOLY COW! AFTER 3 YEARS I FINALLY GOT IT!

SOMEBODY PINCH ME I GOTTA BE DREAMING!

  13. Jlewis419 says:

Darn i finally got one for this weekend but i only have time to play on sunday

  14. Xee_Thot says:

  15. durra says:

There is no beta…. its just a Urban legend. :(

  16. Bollywood Darth Vader says:

I will give you my last box of Wonka bars for an beta invite.

  17. Cedric says:

Crap… still dont have one :(

  18. Padmam says:

I guess I am lucky enough not to get one since I probably wont have time to play anyway but then why does this make me sad? :p

  19. Rune says:

“You Have Been Selected to Test STAR WARS: The Old Republic!”

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!! I’m freaking out!!!! And weirder still, I only got it now, at 4.59 PM!

Someone at Bioware loves me afterall O_o

  21. ZeroEdgeir says:

To make sure, check the email Rune. If there is a “window” of start and end times for game testing, then it’s a weekend run.

But I think the European Beta invites aren’t weekenders, but full-time, with the new multi-language builds they got, I guess.

I’m only in for the weekend myself, but it’s 53 hours I plan to make DAMN good use of!

    • Rune says:

Ahh, okay, thanks :) I guess when I got the mail, I was too excited to take in the details. It doesn’t say anything about any timeframe, nor does the confirmation email.

I’m downloading at about 450kb/s now, so it’s going to be a while, I guess I’ll have to wake up in the middle of the night .

Odd still, that it said all invites had been sent yesterday at 8.33PM SWTOR forum time (CST?), and I got mine at exactly 4.59PM CET today.

Perhaps someone read my posts on the forum and figured the force (or criticism) is strong in this one :P

Although I did see on the forum that some people claimed to have gotten 2-3 invites, meaning they must have signed up many different email addresses or somehow gotten overlap. BioWare would have then probably continued to invite people until they reached the quota they need to accept in order to properly stress test etc.

  22. [...] feeling a little bummed knowing that thousands of players in the TOR community are playing the game right now. Fear not loyal TORWarriors, BioWare has annonced today that their largest beta weekend to date is [...]
