It was just last week that MMORPG.com writer Michael Bitton spoke of his wish that BioWare would drop the NDA for Star Wars: The Old Republic. Shortly after his post, he got his wish. With the NDA now history – he has provided us with some of his first impressions of SWTOR.

Many fans expressed much joy over the lifting of SWTOR's NDA. SWTOR tidbits are a precious commodity.
Bitton breaks down the article into two pieces, the portions of SWTOR that he loved and that he hated. Throughout the article he discusses the popularity of SWTOR, the impact of story and looks at Space Combat. As usual, it’s nice to get some additional thoughts and impressions of the game.
Bitton also addresses an interesting point on Space Combat saying it feels like a break from typical MMO-like gameplay and though it kind of feels ‘out of place,’ it does work well as a mini-game of sorts.
In the past BioWare has stated that free-range/sandbox-like starship warfare isn’t their intent with SWTOR, and while it’s possible they could change their minds – it won’t be anytime soon. So what other sort of tweaks could we look forward to BioWare adding to the Space Combat system besides the current ship upgrades? More elaborate missions? More ships? Some form of limited free travel?
Well, I’ve digressed enough for now, TORWarriors! Make sure to check out the full write-up from MMORPG.com, which you can find HERE. It’s a light read so check it out!

Cant beta till Saturday wtf is up with that?
It is based on when you accepted your invite, much like the head start program lets you in UP to 5 days early based on when you pre-ordered. Like a test of the head start to make sure there are no bugs.
Apparently he hates space combat, which was one of the biggest positive surprises to me, although I agree there is nothing multiplayer about it. I wish we could at the very least team up with other people to do space missions.
Just read it and was a little surprised by some of the comments he says he enjoyed the space combat but didnt like it? huh i can understand it lacks the MMO aspect but it is only a mini game designed to give a bit of light entertainment. I can see how at least making it so you can work as a group to do the missions would make things a bit better and more MMO so to speak but unless they are going to do some major ability to upgrade the ship then its still going to lack the RPG side imo.
And on the other hand to the ppl that were moaning about aspects of the beta on his topic OMFG get a life there are those of us that would almost kill for the chance you got and your playing an uncomplete system and all your doing is moaning shame on you!!!
