Welcome all to TORWarriors! OK, maybe there isn't moisture farming in SWTOR yet but here's hoping!
Calling all TORWarriors! The time has finally arrived (and none too soon with the deadline fast approaching) for TORWars.com to announce its official guild presence in Star Wars: The Old Republic!
(Insert sound of blaring trumpets here) TORWarriors will be an Empire PvP guild based on a West Coast server. We invite all of our readers to join us for camaraderie and fun times when SWTOR finally launches on December 15th (Early Access).
The goal of our guild is to provide us all with a fun, welcoming place to hang out in SWTOR. Casual, as well as “hardcore” players are welcome. The TORWars staff contains a mixture of both and you won’t be hassled for your gameplay preferences. If you prefer to spend your time chatting and crafting or if you plan on running high-level Flashpoints and Operations and hopefully pwning in open world PvP – don’t worry, we’ll be doing all of the above.
Many of the TORWars staff members will also be playing on Republic and PvE servers as well and we’ll let you know where most of us have made homes if you wish to join us there as well. However, we will not have an “official” Republic presence in-game. We just don’t have the time and energy (and frankly, there isn’t enough beer in the galaxy) for us to run two guilds simultaneously. We had to make some tough choices. Regarding the choice of a West Coast server – half of the TORWars staff are located on the West Coast so we went with that. Please note that I have been playing the ongoing Beta on an East Coast server (and I’m in California) and have experienced almost no lag. Server location will hopefully not be a significant issue for players.
So, if you’re interested in running around with the TORWars team and fellow TORWars readers – hop on over to the SWTOR.com hub and shoot us an invite. You only have two days in which to do so there, but afterward we’ll be taking in-game invites and we’ll post info listing which server we land on. *Note that the current TORWarriors Guild Leader, “Fosef,” is a RL friend of mine who got things set up for us a few months back in order to kick the tires and light the fires.

Really great news guys! I do have one question though, and that is will there be an age requirement? I ask because I myself am only fourteen, and while I do consider myself to be mature, I know that there are quite a few guilds out there that do not feel comfortable with having someone of my age playing alongside them. Thanks in advance!
Hi Stuart,
The only age requirement is the SWTOR ‘Teen’ rating. If you can play the game you can join.
However, please note that most in the guild will be adults (though perhaps not mentally) and chat may get spicy on occasion.
Mild cursing and that sort of thing will likely occur but if someone is being particularly obscene or offensive they will be asked to stop.

I love the podcast, it’s on my list of “must hear” and check it for updates several times per week, lol. I’ve heard every episode (even went back & downloaded past episodes) and have been listening for about a month or so. You guys do a great job and provide a very informative and entertaining podcast, love it.
Anyway enough gushing… But seriously, I really do agree with your guys’ attitudes and stance towards things and would be an honor/privilege to play with you guys in game! ^_^

The plan is for a PvP guild on a PvP server.

As someone from the UK with a (crappy) 2mb wireless connection that has played on east&west coast servers, the lag won’t be a factor for anyone that has a better connection than me! I had no real issues whatsoever lag wise (that’s a miracle). I don’t really PvP so i can’t comment on the lag there, but when i wasn’t FPS lagging, it didn’t seem that bad.
Wish I could. But PVP & West Coast won’t work for me, since I’m in Europe. Ping to East Coast is 150-250ms. West Coast I dare not think.

We’ll be on Republic PvE as well without an official guild. But I’ll provide deets when we sort that out. Maybe we can go East Coast with that.
Feel free to make an alt for TORWarriors to say “Hi” once in a while if you wish. It shouldn’t be a problem unless we hit the Guild Member cap and need to boot inactive characters. We’ll see how it goes. =)

By the PVP thing tho I’m mostly thinking about lag. If it was PVP & East Coast, that would likely be ok, lag-wise.
At least on the west coast you’ll get all the aussie readers with you hehe

Yeah, I’m sadly not a fan of PvP servers at all, or I’d definitely be in league with you guys (after launch).
I just don’t like the deal with contested territory being a potential for ganking while leveling/datacron hunting/etc.

Hey guys, I would love to join the guild as I have been an avid follower of you guys for quite a bit. My only question is, how hardcore will this guild be for raiding (how many nights per week, etc.)? I guess this would go not only for the actual TORWars staff, but anyone who is/will be apart of this guild!
There is a new post on the guild’s public forums to discuss this. Go share what your looking for, maybe others want the same and a few of you hardcore people can organize within.
