On the very last day of the year I am very pleased to present one of our art forum paladins: Seithe – Now despite atrocious neglect on my part now finally on TORWars! This is going to be a piping hot show of SWTOR character art. It’s New Years Eve so join me in letting our hair down!

Could you tell us a little bit about yourself?

Well, I don’t want to give too much away to keep my mystical allure, but I’m from the UK, currently living roughly smack dab in the middle of country. I’m 25 and study horticulture (I know right?). I’ve studied Art for quite a few years, but its only since coming out of the education system that I’ve really felt free (and had the time) to draw whatever I damned well wanted to.

How long have you been drawing? What got you started?

I suppose I’ve been drawing since I was 15, so like 10 years. But only seriously trying to perfect my current “style” in the last 4 years or so. What got me started was computer games, computer games and Manga, getting really inspired to draw from those mid 90′s computer games and awesome Anime!

Actually we know Dywa already here at TORWars from her No Moon articleback in June! Do you always use the same mediums?

Pretty much, I stick to pencils in sketchbook, colouring on photoshop. I’ve wanted to get into marker work for years, I just cant crack it.

What attracted you to Star Wars?

Space wizards and an eternal battle over light and dark? Really it was the idea of lazer swords and space magic in my childhood that got me hooked on it.

Do you have any plans for Star Wars: The Old Republic?

Oh yeah I’ll be playing with my guild, the Hands of Darkness. If your on an EU-RP server, keep an eye for us!

Do you do commission work?

I suppose I am open to the idea of commissions, though my time is limited these days and as I’ve never done one I have no idea how reliable I’d be. I’m not selling myself I know, but if you want to reach me, Deviant Art is something I check semi-regularly.

'Annesah' by Seithe. - Strangely Seithe wasn't happy with this picture. I thought it was very strong and made me think of my own Trooper girl.

Will we be seeing any SWTOR art from you?

I think that’s pretty much a guarantee, the great thing about being in an RP guild is that I’m never short of things to illustrate.

What is your advice to a young artist starting out who wants to draw Star Wars art professionally?

Eat lots of goat placenta. If you cant find any in your local butcher, practice lots. Choose an Artist who’s style you love and see how they do things. Draw from life as much as possible and dont labour over a single drawing. My opinion is its better to draw lots of picture’s and then learn from the mistakes you’ve made, instead of spending hours trying to fix one picture that doesnt quite look right no matter what you try, move onto another one or just start over. You might go through a lot of paper but in the long run you will get it right more often than not. After all, having to go out for another box of 500 sheets of copy paper is a chore no one wants (I say that from experience).

I’m just really happy I was chosen to be on TORwars! I’ve been loitering around the TOR community for about 4 years, so this feature is a pretty big deal amongst the crowds I run in, to me personally as well!
