Greetings fellow acolytes! This week, I am once again donning the man-dress of my Sith Assassin to bring you some of my later-game shenanigans. Don’t want to jump ahead that far? Check out my Inquisitor Newbie Guide here, and head back over when you get to later levels.
Growing Up Epically
For the moment, my alt-a-holism seems to have gone into remission, so I’ve been focusing solely on my Sith Assassin. Now that I’ve hit level 40, the story is a big factor in my new found diligence. I have to say, after dabbling in every other storyline out there, the Inquisitor story is just plain epic, and by far my favorite. Am I biased? Before you say yes, roll an Inquisitor, and check it out for yourself. You will not be sorry!
As usual, I won’t give any major story spoilers away, but I didn’t even notice my leveling from 35 to 40 as I was so captivated by what my character is now capable of. It’s strange to say, but I amaze myself every time I step into a room to interact with NPCs. I don’t know if they are groveling more, but my mere presence is enough to change most situations. I say jump, and they say…well, you get the idea.
Not only do I feel like the Sith Lord I am, but I feel like I’m truly looking the part now as well. After running the Foundry Flashpoint, I’m now in possession of gear that just looks ridiculously badass. My cut scene voice is mechanically altered due to my sweet Untouchable Assassin’s Foundry Hood, and although pants would be cool, my new Untouchable Assassin’s Foundry Robe really ties my man-dress and the rest of my outfit together. And, since these two pieces are orange items, I just keep my mods up to date, and continue to own the lesser beings in the galaxy.
Wait. Was that Darth Maul?
Although my Tank’s DPS is terrible, with my pirate sidekick in tow, I have a ton of flexibility in how I approach a fight. This is where BioWare really captured that Darth Maul feel. Remember that scene in Episode One, where Darth Maul is on his speederbike one moment, then he’s airborne, and spinning his lightsaber the next? Yeah, I do that. Remember when Darth Maul is fighting both Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan, and he’s flipping, spinning and kicking his way through the battle like the Jedi-owning champ he is? I can do that too…very well in fact.
For example, at level 28 I got Tumult, one of my absolute favorite abilities. It’s basically a very slick looking, flipping spin-kick I can use when an enemy is stunned. With the sheer number of CC abilities I have, I’m able to fire off this ability the moment it’s cooldown ends. It not only looks amazing, it does a ton of damage (2295-2357 to average mobs).
Tip of the Week
Vary your rotations! Obviously, there are certain rotations that are more effective than others in tough situations, but when faced with a mission to kill X number of weaker mobs, at higher levels, when your hotbars are literally bursting with abilities, break the monotony, and change it up. As an Assassin, instead of stunning then backstabbing to start every encounter, channel your inner Darth Maul and try leaping from your speeder using Overload, and watch the bodies fly.

Overloading off of my speeder is my absolute favorite thing to do. Well, that and using Force Storm.
Do you use tumult when tanking? I’m lvl 34 atm and the only chance to use it is after an electrocute. I havent even bothered to place it on my hotbars since champion lvl Bosses is immune to stuns. Maybe i need to sort my bars out for questing to make full use of the vast ammount of abilities.
It’s a little tricky, but I use it while tanking. Because it hits so hard, I use it after electrocute, but I also use it to start clean up duty on CC’d mobs and I try to time it when Shock stuns and when my healing companion uses his freeze stun. Timing is the key to make it effective. Hope that helps.
Totally agree with you on the look of the Boarding Party/Foundry gear for the inquisitor. I was too hasty in replacing it with the Collicoid War Games-looking set and I really regret it. Now I have a helmet that has 6 purple syringes sticking into my head. On the plus side, it’s the only full-head helmet I have found that shows my twi’lek’s lekku
“Remember when Darth Maul is fighting both Anakin and Obi-Wan”
I think anakin was a bit too young to fight Darth Maul
Haha, oops. Fixed:)

For me tank gear and dps tree is epic.
