My good friend, Ian Brooks introduced me to possibly the most adorable Star Wars and Winnie the Pooh mashup art ever imagined. And in many ways it has all come into being because of one little girl who inspires her father, with her strength and cheerfulness, to do these amazing art pieces.
James’ daughter Maddison has been fighting with chronic constipation since she was a baby. To help with the mounting medical bills, her father set about turning his considerable artistic talents towards kids arts and putting together a series of kids books based off Winnie the Pooh but starring an adorable little Chewie instead.
Madison loves to sing, dance and entertain anyone who will stop and give her a smile, you honestly wouldn’t know she was sick unless you spent a whole day with her. She is an amazingly brave and cheerful little girl and we couldn’t be more proud.
As you can imagine, the cost of travel, hotel stays and the invevitable medical bills all tally up, If you’d like to commission an original painting for your own child’s room with all proceed’s going to Maddy – please get in touch here.
Madison makes me so unbelievably happy, and without that happiness I wouldn’t be able to do what I do. Thanks so much for your support! Love you <3

Follow this link for a page full of awesome Wookie the Chew prints!
As I mentioned James is working his Wookie the Chew art into a full trilogy of children’s books, the first of which (“The House on Chew Corner“) is now available from James Hance’s website at a mere 5$ each and he has opened up for UK and European customers too:
‘Wookiee The Chew’, in the style of the original Pooh books tells the adorkable tale of the little biped that belonged to Chrisolo Robin (and Chrisolo Robin belonged to him). 24 pages of affectionately crafted adventure, brand new b&w illustrations and sneaky Star Wars references- a tribute to the combined genius of George Lucas, A.A.Milne and E.H.Sheppard. Suitable for Jedi apprentices of all ages!
If you find yourself craving some of James’ awesome Star Wars mashups but a print or a children’s book sin’t what you would normally go for, then take a look at the Tshirts he’s selling as well! I will readily admit I am craving at least five different ones at this point!
James’ mashups aren’t solely Star Wars vs Winnie the Pooh either. I found Star Wars vs Beauty and the Beast (see below), Fraggles, Muppets, Doctor Who and my personal favourite is this one, lovingly inspired by Gustav Klimt’s ‘The Kiss’:
I hope I enticed you to at least visit James Hance’s website and browse around and if there isn’t a Tshirt or a limited edition print in the budget for you maybe you would consider a re-tweet on Twitter or a Google+/Facebook mention for a good cause.
You can find James Hance and his art at Jameshance.com or on his Facebook page, Twitter account or on his Tumblr page.

Wow, as the father of a 3 year old geek in training, I have to say this is awesome stuff!
I am so buying one of these books for my nephew.
I have had the book and one of his LE prints for a while, and plan on ordering more at some point. He’s also a really funny guy, i’d suggest you add his Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/ArtByJamesHance) as he occasionally does live paintings via vidcam and chats with folks as he’s doing it.
I went on the UK site and have sized up a few of the prints to buy! Imo they are far better paintings and so on (for a much better price) than what are on (or used to be on) the starwarsshop etc!
I love the muppet india jones piece too, some of them are just pure win!
