Frustrating the entire enemy team? Yeah, that's Vanguard PvP at it's best!

This is a video made by Cromar of TGN (character name: ThomasRiker), demonstrating how to play a Vanguard in PvP. Normally, the most impressive PvP videos are heavily edited DPS vids. You know the kind: a quick glimpse of a DPSer hitting for thousands in damage, then a cut to another scene of the same character killing an opponent in dramatic fashion, all of which is matched by a too-loud metal soundtrack.

Not this video – this video is shot live, with commentary by the player as to what he is trying to accomplish. In the video, we see Cromar absorbing tons of damage, holding off multiple enemies until backup arrives, guarding healers and squishies, appropriately utilizing taunt, and applying damage where damage is due. It’s really a very good guide to tanking in PvP, which is in complete contrast to what we usually see (tanks running around at random, under-utilizing their various abilities, and trying to out DPS the DPS classes). Not Cromar: he really shows how tanking can be used most effectively, and makes tanking look like a lot of fun in the process. Check it out:
