R2 units are now available at Verizon with a new contract
Thanks to TORWarrior Amisha for sending this in: a commercial for Verizon, in which a customer is apparently offered the choice of a new phone, or an R2 unit of his own, with his contract. Of course, the customer does what anyone would do, and picks the phone.
Grrrrrrrr — wha wha whaaaat? I suppose, in the bizarre unreality of a commercial, this all makes sense somehow. Gotta tell you, though, if a phone company was offering me a droid, they could convince me to sign up for a decade-long contract on the spot.

No person in their right mind would choose a phone over R2, not even the complitely crazy people like yours truely here.
What sort of a message are they trying to send to their customers, “You are all utterly retarded imbeciles, thanks for your money though suckers” hmmm?
