Eric Musco, Social Media Coordinator for BioWare, was featured in the second video in the Quick Start Guide series of videos for new players. It’s titled “Maps and Navigation”, and has some great tips on how to get around the Star Wars: The Old Republic world. In the video, Eric shows us the different map features and gives us world navigation tips. He goes over bind points, speeders, how to tell if you’ve been to a taxi station before, map filters, the map magnifying glass, and other helpful items.
Even if you’re a game veteran, you might find a couple things in the video that you didn’t already know. For instance, most of my guild mates haven’t learned about the Emergency Fleet Pass, which lets you quick travel to your Fleet Station once every 18 hours. It’s in your Abilities list (default hotkey ‘p’) under the General tab. It’s very handy if you don’t want to run all the way to the spaceport, go to the orbital station, go down the hallway to your airlock, and then fly off.
I have ‘Resource’ toggled on my main map, which automatically toggles them on my mini-map so that I can find crafting nodes more easily. I didn’t realize there was another button right on my mini-map that could do the same thing, too. If you click the little button at about 1 o’clock, right above the plus sign, you’ll bring up a menu that lets you toggle different filters on and off. This can be handy in areas like the Coruscant Market where there are lots of vendors close together, but you need to find a specific type.

I thought you need to buy emergency fleet pass from the security key vendor… and that us normal folks do not have it. Is that correct or should I look in my general tab thuis evening…
Cheers
I thought the same thing, however the Fleet pass is under your skills and its once per 18 hours
You have the skill in your abilities list, under the ‘general’ tab. However, you can still buy more fleet passes if you want.
