In this report, we’ve datamined more infomation about the upcoming Darvannis Raid, which looks to be a part of an update called Scum and Villany.  My probably inaccurate prediction is that we will see this content in 1.8, with Makeb being the update after.

The GenoHaradan have provided us with some information about what the Hutt Cartel is up to on Darvannis.  However, they do not seem to know much about the planet itself.   We can only assume their penetration into the Hutt Cartel only goes so far.  Before mounting an operation against the Hutts on Darvannis, we must find out more about the planet. Rather than try to ascertain this information from the enemy, the SiS went a different route.

We have reached out to the Jedi Council to see if there is any record of this mysterious planet in their  extensive archives   You would think working with our allies would be easier than trying to get this information from the enemy.  The Jedi are very protective of their information, especially in light of the events that took place during the sacking of Coruscant. The SiS Director had to meet personally with Jedi Grand Master Satele Shan in order to discuss gaining access to the archives.  In the end, he was successful, although we were not allowed to personally do the search.

Here is what was found:

In the five centuries since its discovery by spice smugglers, the planet Darvannis has existed purely as a navigational footnote on most galactic star charts. Located in the Calaron sector of Hutt Space, the planet lacks any profitable resources or unusual native species. A dense asteroid field makes any approach to the planet a risky venture, so most navigators avoid Darvannis entirely.

This thorough obscurity has made Darvannis a favored retreat for members of the Hutt Cartel looking to avoid attention. Small but prosperous market villas dot the world’s arid surface, bustling with vibrant trade in illegal weapons and other black market goods.

It’s not much to go on, but it is something at.  Knowing this place has been in use by the Hutts for a quite some time is a valuable piece of knowledge. We should assume they have significant combat resources available to them.  With all of the illegal weapons passing through Darvannis, who knows what they may throw at us.

Our liaison with the GenoHaradan will be meeting with them soon about some new information which has come to light.  Once he reports back, another report will be filed.
