Last night the TORWars Guild Jawa Pacification Team Ops Group headed out to Section X to do a quick take down of Dreadtooth before our weekly Black Hole Commendation run but found a large group from Carnage Gaming that were also preparing to do the same. We stayed to see what they were doing as they said they were going to attempt to kill Dreadtooth with 10 stacks of Dreadful Resurgence. After a few minutes, we headed on our merry way to go kill our own Ops bosses, but little did we know we could have stayed to view Star Wars: The Old Republic history being made!
Carnage managed to take Dreadtooth down with 7 stacks in one instance of Section X, and then moved their 24 man team to a second instance to perform a world first feat and kill the world boss with 10 stacks of Dreadful Resurgence. Killing Dreadtooth with 10 stacks granted them the title of ”The Resurgent” and also dropped another item, the Dreadful Amulet which was then used to spawn a special hidden boss within Terror From beyond called “The Dreadful Entity”.
Carnage took down this boss impressively which granted them title “The Dread Slayer” and once again obtained another mysterious drop from that boss, the Dreadful Orb, which at this time is not known to have a use outside of a cosmetic effect.
You can watch their Dreadtooth kill here (around 10 minutes in)
You can watch their Dreadful Entity kill here (around 50 minutes in)
Congrats to Carnage Gaming on their World First kills! Impressive work! While SW:TOR isn’t known to have the ultra competitive high end operations content that other MMO’s may have, seeing stories like this gets me super excited. I love seeing guildstake this stuff down and love even more that BioWare put small hidden things like this in! What about you, TORWarriors? Want to see more things like this in SW:TOR? Let us know your thoughts below!

TORWars Podcast #152: The Terrors of Nuturing the SWTOR Community
Grats to Carnage Gaming! Maybe we should have hung out and watched! =)
WOW! Something in the game that hasn’t been reported, youtubed, known up down and backwards how-to.
THAT is what impresses me.
From us at Carnage Gaming, thanks for the writeup and shoutout
Hopefully soon we’ll have the next piece of the puzzle figured out with the Dreadful Orb.
Thanks for the support, we’re trying to figure out what the orb does also.
Amazing news and congrats to Carnage Gaming!
I love that there are hidden things like this in game and agree that it is great that there are still mysteries to uncover.
Good luck with the Dreadful Orb, I expect we are all watching along now to hear news on what it does. (hear that BW? it better do something
heh)
I guess they are pieces of the almost forgotten Zoeller legacy
. Congrats from Jar’kai Sword, CG!
WOW ! Amazing !
Is it possible to know wich classes you used on the fight ? (it is hard to see exactly
)
I spot only 2 tank, at least 5 sage, some scoundrel on heal
And various dps…
GG again !
I’m not fully clued up on MMO terminology so excuse the n00bish question but what do you mean “take down dreadtooth in 7 stacks”
Also, congrats on the great achievement.
Dreadtooth can have different stacks of “Dreadful Resurgence” which increase his power. 1-2 stacks can be downed by an 8 man operation, 3-4 require 16 man and 4-10 require 24 man. 10 stacks is the max and is the hardest difficulty mode for Dreadtooth.
This is a HUGE accomplishment

CG guys, feel free to correct me if I made any mistakes.
Only thing I noticed wrong is Karmeld was specced as heals for this fight.
Our server seems to just now be getting into farming Dreadtooth as my first attempt on him was earlier yesterday. We downed him on 5 stacks with a two guild attempt. I was one of the sage healers and I can say that having like 6 sages just dropping puddles after puddles in the middle really helps. Other than cleansing, that’s all you really have to do its a pretty easy fight once you get the mechanics down.
Have to say though that this 24 man fight really shows how s#!tty the game engine is; I’m running a i7 cpu that is running at +4.0 ghz and a GTX 680 and I had to turn my graphics down to LOW in order to get anything above 20 fps. They really need to optimize the game better if they ever want to bring back open world pvp.
Stacks refers to a buff you place on DreadTooth to make him harder – 1 stack requires 5-8 people; 3 stack requires 12-16; 5 stack requires 22-24; 10 stack requires 24.
At 3 stack you get an extra mask
At 5 stack you get a different codex entry
At 10 stack you get an amulet that lets you summon the dreadful entity.
Take down means to kill or defeat.
Hey CG guys, can one of you in charge shoot me an email – brian at torwars dot com – id love to interview you guys for the podcast!
Sure thing, incoming email

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nnvxh-ziP-Q is the interview.
Nice job! That was EPIC!
Wow, the Dreadful Entity is NASTY. Mainly the part where it’s a Light Cycle.
