Update: BioWare has posted the following on the forums as well, giving some more background info on the event coming tomorrow!
Between February 12 and February 26, visit the in-game News Terminal, located on Carrick Station or Vaiken Spacedock, to begin your adventure in an all new in-game event, Relics of the Gree!
Uncover the real mission of the Gray Secant, an enormous ancient Gree starship that has mysteriously appeared over Ilum’s Western Ice Shelf. The Gree have promised advanced technology, including highly-advanced weapons and armor, to anyone who is brave enough to aid them by taking on an action-packed mission.

Very little to go on here, but the preview looks a lot like the “news” videos we’ve seen in the previous events. I, for one, am excited to see what happens.

I wish they would just say whether it was PvP, PvE, or mixed (do PvP to gain access to PvE). My endgame gear sucks as a free player, so I won’t be doing any PvP stuff.
Considering that the event is slated to happen on the Western Ice Shelf, there’s definitely going to be PvP involved. No idea of there will actually be PvP *objectives*, but at the very least you’ll be flagged for as long as you’re in the area.
They posted new details on the site. It looks like it will be PvE where you can chose to do slightly harder stuff in the PvE area or go do easier quests but have the chance to be ganked.
I’m the eternal pessimist so I’m not excited yet.
The rep grind looks just like that, a grind in lieu of any new real content. Not my idea of fun.
The Ilum stuff I need more info before I jump in. If it’s PvP oriented then I’ll pass. I’m not interested in being forced into flagging for PvP, that’s why I play on a PvE server.

Interesting stuff. I don’t like open world PVP so if it has a heavy dose of that i won’t be taking part. But there are a lot of people who do so this is great for them.
I’ll do the PVE content as far as I can before I either get gankged or have to do PVP..
I’m really looking forward to seeing what the Gree look like in game.
